About SmartPath

Let's take a deep dive into the history of SmartPath!

  1. In its early stages, SmartPath was but a concept, a vision yet to be molded into reality. Nigamanth Srivatsan was learning the basics of GIS.
  2. The earliest prototype of SmartPath's location finding algorithm had been created, with the goal of taking in the user's location and guiding them to a specific room, not bound by any teacher or event, such as a Parent-Teacher Meeting.

  3. By this time, SmartPath had Google Authentication, and the ability to locate rooms by the room number & the teacher's name.
  4. SmartPath worked in both the primary and secondary buildings, and a special page would be added for the Parent-Teacher meetings, which happened in the month of October, resulting in over 145 users during the PTM.

  5. SmartPath allowed parents to join and leave waiting lists of their wards' teachers, which allowed for them to be extremely efficient and save time.
This led to over 250 users for SmartPath by March.
  6. SmartPath's user interface was changed for a better user experience and was made responsive to mobile phones and other devices.

This culminated with the addition of a messaging feature for support or help with the PTM in October.
